How do I view a ZooBurst Book?
ZooBurst books are completely web based - all you need to get started is a standard web browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc.) and the Adobe Flash plugin. You can search for books by using the 'search' box that appears on the top-right side of every ZooBurst page.
-
How can I view a ZooBurst Book in Augmented Reality?
Augmented Reality mode allows you to view a book through your computer's webcam. Using a special symbol, ZooBurst can determine where you would like your book to appear within your local environment and display it accordingly. To get started, open a book and click on the 'Webcam Mode' button. When prompted click the 'Allow' button to let ZooBurst access your webcam. Next, click on the black and white symbol displayed on the left side of the screen and print it on a standard sheet of paper (or click here to access the ZooBurst augmented reality marker). Hold the symbol up to your webcam and - presto! - your book appears in the palm of your hand!

Can I build my own ZooBurst Book?
Yes! ZooBurst is currently accepting new users on a rolling basis. To sign up for an account please visit this form and tell us a little more about yourself and why you would like to give ZooBurst a try.
-
Can I embed a ZooBurst Book onto my own blog or website?
Absolutely! Like YouTube and other video-sharing sites, ZooBurst lets you "embed" books on other websites or blogs. This can be a very useful feature for teachers who are using a class website or course management system as it allows you to provide your students with access to your ZooBurst books from one familiar place. To embed a book simply open it up in your browser and click on the 'Embed this book' link below the book. Copy the code that is displayed and paste it into your blog or website, making sure to paste it as "HTML" code. -
I'm a teacher and would like to have my students create their own ZooBurst books. How can I do this?
In the very near future we will be releasing a "class management" feature inside ZooBurst that will allow teachers to set up classes, create assignments and set up usernames & passwords for your students. In the interim you can always log into ZooBurst on behalf of your students. ZooBurst will allow you to access your account from multiple computers at the same time, so if you are in a computer lab simply log into the site for each student and have them create their own books.
